Vladimir P. Kochereshko was born in Leningrad on March 28 1951. He graduates in 1974 from the Physical Department at the Leningrad State University. From 1974 he has been a member of the scientific staff of Solid State Optics department in A.F.Ioffe Physical-Technical Institute.

He earned scientific degrees: Ph.D. in Solid State Physics in 1984 and doctor of science degree in 1998 from the A.F.Ioffe Physical-Technical Institute.

V.P.Kochereshko has published about 110 papers in Russian and International journals on the optical spectroscopy of crystals, semiconductors and semiconductor nanostructures.
