The laboratory performs fundamental studies
of electronic properties and lattice dynamics
of semiconductors, insulators, HTSC materials
and their heterostuctures
by means of optical, microwave and phonon spectroscopy.
There are 39 scientists and 8 technicians in the staff.

Teaching students

The laboratory belongs to a pure research institute. Nevertheless, it takes a part in education of students from universities of St.Petersburg. Each year several undergraduate and postgraduate students from St.Petersburg State University and St.Petersburg State Technical University come to our lab in order to fulfil their scientific work as a part of bachelor and/or master and/or Ph.D. schoolarships (see the list of current students here).
Special relationships exist between our lab and the Department of Solid State Physics at the Physical Faculty of St.Petersburg State University. ...

Funds & Grants

Being a part of Ioffe Institute, our lab is basically endowed by Russian Academy of Sciences. However, a valuable part of the total budget comes from extra funds, which are gratefully acknowledged by us.
