INTRODUCTION
The 10th IAEA
Technical Meeting on ”H-mode Physics and Transport Barriers”
will take place between 28 and 30 September, 2005 in St. Petersburg.
This meeting is the continuation of a series of previous meetings
(San Diego 1987, Gut Ising 1989, Abingdon 1991, Naka 1993, Princeton
1995, Kloster Seeon 1997, Oxford 1999, Toki 2001, San Diego 2003).
OBJECTIVES
The purpose of the meeting is to present and discuss the status of H-mode
and internal transport barrier experiments, theory and modeling in
magnetic fusion research and to discuss scientific solutions of
H-mode control for the purpose of exploring possibilities of enhanced
operating regimes in next step large fusion devices.
MEETING FORMAT, CONFERENCE TOPICS AND INVITED SPEAKERS
The meeting will be organized around six broad topics of current
interest. An overview talk will be presented for each topic.
ABSTRACT
Submission between 1 and 31 May 2005
Anyone wishing to present a paper during this meeting should submit an
abstract to the local organizers via e-mail:
h-mode-tm@mail.ioffe.ru.

The abstracts will be
selected and classified by the International Advisory Committee.
Authors will be informed of the acceptance and placement of their
contributions by email, by 10 July 2005. The accepted abstracts will
be made available on the Meeting webpage

PAPERS
Participants are encouraged to publish their presentations in the Special Issue of
the of Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion journal. Invited papers
should not exceed 14 journal pages, contributed – 6 pages. A
publication fee and instructions for the manuscript preparation will be
provided later.
Electronic versions of manuscripts and presentations will be collected at
the meeting.
A summary report of the meeting will be prepared for submission to
the “Nuclear Fusion” journal.
PARTICIPATION
Participants from IAEA Member States or international organizations are expected
to attend. Participants should be persons actively involved in the
topics of the meeting. A participant will be accepted only if the
Participation Form A (available at
www.ioffe.ru/H-mode_WS-2005/participation.html) is transmitted
through the appropriate Governmental representative authority
(Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Atomic Energy Authority).
EXPENDITURES AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT
No registration fee will
be charged to participants. However, a publication fee will be
collected from the participants wishing to publish their papers in
the Special Issue of the PPCF.
Limited funds are
available for a few participants mainly from developing countries
with low economic resources. Instruction for application for the
Travel Grant is available on the Meeting webpage.
VISA
Designated participants who require a visa to enter Russia should submit the
necessary application to the nearest diplomatic or consular
representative of Russia as soon as possible. Local Organizers will
provide the participants with visa support. See

LOCATION AND ACCOMMODATION
The meeting will take
place at the recently renovated "Moscow" hotel, located in
the historical area of the city.
A block of rooms is reserved for accommodation of the participants in
the "Moscow" hotel. The hotel description can be found at
