Subject: passports and antiterror
Dear Russian participants of the Neutron Star Conference in St. Petersburg.
It is a great pleasure to inform you that the administration of the Ioffe Institute kindly agreed to open the main entrance of the Ioffe Institute for three conference days, from June 6 to June 8. Therefore please use the main entrance during the conference days.
Nevertheless, in order to enter the Ioffe Institute, every participant will have to show his passport at the entrance. For secrurity reasons (to fight numerous terrorists and spies around us) it will be necessary to write down the passport data of every participant to the list of participants at the entrance. It is easy to foresee that this writing will strongly block the flow of participants into the Ioffe Institute, especially in the morning of June 6.
Therefore, the Organizing Committee begs the participants to send the following passport data by e-mail in advance:
Remember: by sending these data promptly you will help to avoid traffic jam at the main entrance.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee,
D.G. Yakovlev
