First announcement

The conference on Physics of Neutron Stars will be held at the Ioffe Physico-Technical Institute on June 24-27, 2008. This will be the 8th gathering on neutron star physics in Saint-Petersburg (after those in 1988, 1992, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2001, and 2005). Its aim is to bring together those who are interested in physics and astrophysics of neutron stars and related problems. All subjects relevant to observations and theory of neutron stars are welcome: radiation (from radio to hard gamma-rays), origin in supernova explosions, proto-neutron stars, evolution in binary systems, merging, radio pulsars, X-ray pulsars, X-ray bursters, transients, soft gamma repeaters, anomalous X-ray pulsars, internal structure, atmospheres, neutrino emission, etc. The official language of the conference will be Russian, but there may be a few talks in English.
