Participants will be able to enter the Institute by showing their passports at the main entrance. The programme of the Conference is now available at the Web site (it may be slightly changed later). A brief summary of the program is included at the end of this announcement. Participants will be accommodated at three hotels: AKADEMICHESKAYA (NAUKA-1 and NAUKA-2) and at the HOTEL of the Scientific-Educational Complex (NOC) associated with the IOFFE INSTITUTE. A list of participants with accommodation places and arrival-departure dates is available at the Web site. The address of NAUKA-1 is Millionnaya (former Khalturina) Street, 27 (please consult the Accommodation section of the Web site for details). One can reach the Ioffe Institute from NAUKA-1 in approximately 50 minutes by metro from the Gostinyi Dvor station to the Politekhnicheskaya station (take metro line 3 and change to line 1 at the Ploshchad' Vosstaniya station). The address of NAUKA-2 is prospekt Engelsa 65. One can reach it from the Moscow Railway Station by metro. Please take line 3, one stop to the Gostinyi Dvor station, then change from the line 3 Gostinyi Dvor station to the line 2 Nevsky Prospekt station, take line 2 to the Udelnaya station, walk to prospekt Engelsa (about 150 m) and cross it. The hotel will be just on your left along the prospekt. The prospekt is currently blocked for traffic. One can reach the Ioffe Institute from NAUKA-2 by walking through the Sosnovka park and then by ulitsa Zhaka Dyuklo (Jacques Duclos Street) and Kurchatova Street (approximately 40 minutes in total). Alternatively, one can take any bus or route taxi along Morisa Toreza prospekt (Maurice Thorez Avenue) to the hotel Sputnik, where the prospekt crosses Kurchatova Street. In addition, there is route taxi number 152 which starts from Rashetova Street (not far from the hotel) and then goes along Morisa Toreza prospekt. Then walk along Kurchatova Street to Politekhnicheskaya Street, where the Ioffe Institute is situated (please consult the map available in the Accommodation section of the Web site). HOTEL NOC is located near the Politekhnichesky park (between the park and Khlopina Street; see the map available at the Web site), ten minute walk from the Ioffe Institute. The address is: Khlopina Street, 8, building 3. In order to reach the Ioffe Institute directly from Moskovsky vokzal, take metro line 1 to the Politekhnicheskaya station (see section Venue of the conference Web site for details). Presentations can be made using either multimedia projector or overhead projector. Electronic presentations (with multimedia projector) should be given using the conference notebook. Electronic files should be loaded (with usb flash memory or CD) and checked in advance (before a morning session on a presentation day at the latest). All participants are kindly requested to inform the organizers by e-mail (ns@astro.ioffe.ru) by June 10 which tools they will use for presentation. In the same e-mail please confirm your arrival and departure dates. Russian participants are also requested to indicate their passport data (full name; passport number, where and by whom issued; home address) to arrange their entrance to the Ioffe Institute. The conference is supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, by the Dynasty Foundation, and by the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The support is sufficient to cover accommodation (hotel) of Russian participants for the period from June 26 to 29, their living expenses (per diem) for the conference period (not longer than for three days), and partly their travel expenses (only one-way railway travel to Saint-Petersburg). Although the weather is not predictable this year, the scientific weather is expected to be excellent - hot, shining, and stormy!
