The conference on Physics of Neutron Stars will be held at the Ioffe Physico-Technical Institute on June 27-29, 2005. About 100 researchers from different institutions are expected to take part in the conference. A large variety of subjects relevant to theory and observations of neutron stars will be discussed: origin, evolution, internal structure, electromagnetic radiation (from radio to hard gamma-rays), neutrino emission, radio and X-ray pulsars, X-ray bursters and transients, soft gamma repeaters, etc.

The official language of the conference is Russian; however, several talks in English are expected to be delivered by speakers from other countries. Abstracts of the talks will be published in English.

There will be several invited talks (25-30 min), a few tens of contributed talks (15-20 min), and an oral-poster session. The participants are kindly requested to submit an application form and an abstract of presentation before March 25, 2005. Applications submitted later will be disregarded.

The contributions will be selected by the Organizing Committee. Abstracts of the accepted contributions will be published. An abstract should be in English, not larger than one page in total.

Registration fee of 450 roubles will be requested. A limited financial support may be available. Additional information on this support, scientific programme, and accommodation will be presented in the Third announcement (to be distributed by e-mail on June 3).
