International Conference Physics of Neutron Stars – 2014 commemorating the 100th birthday of Yakov Borisovich Zel'dovich July 28 — August 1, 2014, St. Petersburg, Russia

This is the Second Announcement for the international conference "Physics of Neutron Stars - 2014" to be held in Saint Petersburg, Russia from July 28 till August 1, 2014.

The Organizing Committee has decided to extend the deadline for registration and abstract submission by one week, that is till March 23rd, 2014. Nevertheless, this new deadline is also right around the corner, so if you have not had a chance to register yet, please do it at your earliest convenience at this website.

CTO Congress has been selected as the official conference operator.

Here one can now find detailed information on accommodation in Saint Petersburg and visa support (majority of participants from abroad will need visas from Russian consulates to enter our country). Citizens of the EU, but not UK, and the USA can use official invitations from the conference organizers for their visa applications. (Please, keep in mind though, that such invitations can be prepared only if the organizers receive the passport scans of the participants and their accompanying persons in a timely fashion; see the "Visa support" section for details.) Alternatively, the conference operator "CTO Congress" provides "aim tourism visa" support to the participants from any country. This support will be free for those participants who will have booked their accommodations via "CTO Congress". For any other visa related inquiries, please contact the LOC, but not later than May 1st, 2014.

The registration fee is set at 10000 Russian rubles if paid on or before July 14th, 2014 and at 12000 rubles if paid at a later date. National and international B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. students are entitled to a 50% fee discount. The fee includes welcome party, conference dinner, coffee breaks, and participant toolkit. Detailed instructions on fee payment methods will appear shortly in the "Fees" section of this website.

We sincerely hope (and shall strive to make sure) that this conference will be a successful scientific event which will advance the physics of neutron stars through a great number of excellent talks, posters, and stimulating discussions between scientists working on diverse approaches to the subject. During the conference we plan to organize a number of social and cultural activities for participants and their accompanying persons. We expect to create warm and cozy atmosphere at the meeting, and the unmatched beauty of our city is always with us.
