Nucleation (i.e. initial droplet formation from the gas) and subsequent condensation (i.e. rapid growth of droplets and conversion into liquid or solid state) are the one of the most important type of first-order phase transition in the Nature. Applications of theory of these processes for technological and astrophysical problems (e.g. CVD growth of crystals and formation of cosmic dust) are considered in the report. It is shown that simple approach using the moments of distribution function can be successfully used to resolve nucleation problems for the different media.
