Study of the magnetoreception of cryptochromes

Photoproduction of the radical pairs in cryptochromes can display a sharp sensitivity to the direction of a weak (geo)magnetic field, providing thereby a mechanism of "chemical compass". An underlying physics will be highlighted, and the results of theoretical simulations will be presented and discussed.
