The main anniversary event was the Interdisciplinary Scientific and Practical Conference "Full-Cycle Low-Carbon Energy: Production, Storage, Switching," which took place on October 31, 2023, at 10:00 AM in the Institute's Grand Assembly Hall.

Participants in its plenary session, "Paths for the Development of Efficient Domestic Low-Carbon Energy – Innovative Technologies, New Approaches and Solutions," included representatives of legislative and executive authorities, state corporations and holdings, businesses, scientists, practitioners, and experts.

At the session "Development of Full-Cycle Low-Carbon Energy in the Developments of the Ioffe Institute with Partners," held in honor of the Institute's 105th anniversary, reports were given by staff from the Ioffe Institute, partner organizations, collaborators, and industrial customers. Scientists discussed the most relevant areas of modern high-tech energy, including controlled thermonuclear fusion, renewable and hydrogen energy, small-scale distributed energy for remote territories, space, and underwater applications, energy storage, power semiconductors, and switches, among others.

The 105th-anniversary celebrations continued with a ceremonial meeting of the Scientific Council of the Ioffe Institute, which took place on November 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM. Before the meeting began, a memorial plaque was unveiled on the main building of the institute in honor of the Institute's director from 1987 to 2003, Nobel Prize laureate, Academician Zhores I. Alferov. During the meeting, the Director of the Ioffe Institute, S.V. Ivanov, presented a report on the main research directions and scientific and practical achievements of the Institute over the past five years. Congratulations and greetings were extended by the Institute's guests.
