The Workshop photo in high resolution will be available soon.

The organizers are enthusiastic about launching the series of small-scale regular NTPF workshops well-focused at the most interesting subjects in contemporary physics and applications of ferroic media.

Overview

Laboratory for Physics of Ferroics of the Ioffe Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences is pleased to announce the First International Workshop on Novel Trends in Physics of Ferroics to be held in St. Petersburg, Russia on July 4-6, 2014. The Workshop is the satellite meeting of the Moscow International Symposium on Magnetism MISM-2014. The aim of the Workshop is to bring together scientists working on physics of magnetically ordered, ferroelectric and multiferroic media. A special emphasis will be put on physics of control of charges and spins for recently emerging spintronics and magnonics technologies. The Workshop program will include the following topics:

  • Spintronics and magnonics
  • Multiferroics
  • Novel approaches for controlling charges and spins
  • Advanced probes of ferroic media: THz, X-ray, neutron etc.
