Alexander A. Schmidt

Alexander A. Schmidt was born in St.Petersburg in 1980, 19th of October.

In 1997 he graduated from Lyceum "Physical-Technical School" and entered Chair of Solid State Physics of Physics and Technology Department at the Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University.
In 2001 made a bachelor thesis, and in 2003 graduated with honorous from the Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnical University with the thesis and now is a post-graduate student of the Chair of Solid State Physics.

Title of the bachelor thesis:

  • Displacement threshold energies of impurities in semiconductor heterostructures based on GaAs.
  • Title of the master degree thesis:
  • Monte Carlo simulation of the ion sputtering and neutron transmutation doping of semiconductor heterostructures.
  • Starting from 1999 was working as researching student at the Group of the Theory and Computer Simulation of Radiation Defects and Processes in Multicomponent Materials headed by Prof. Dr. Sci. Yurii Vladimirovich Trushin. After the graduation he continued the work in the scientific group.

    Awards

    Alexander Schmidt was scholar and award winner of the following organisiations:

  • In 2004: the Dynasty fondation;

    • Monte Carlo simulation of highly-mismatched heterostructures MBE growth;
    • Theory and computer simulation of physical processes in solids under irradiation;
    • Ion and neutron irradiation for material processing and research;
