About Saint-Petersburg and Russia

The autumn in St. Petersburg is usually short, atmospheric and beautiful. Considered the favorite time of Russian poet Alexander Pushkin, the gold autumn, is the most coloured and outstanding season of the imperial city. As the fall foliage begins, the trees change their colors, the leaves turn from green to gold and the parks burst with color.

Although during this time of the year the weather is fickle, early autumn in St. Petersburg from the end of August up to the middle of October, can be one of the best periods to visit St. Petersburg, though it can get wet. So bring an umbrella.
