Ioffe Workshop on GRBs and other transient sources: 25 Years of Konus-Wind Experiment
September 9–13, 2019, St.Petersburg, Russia

CIS, Israel and some other nationals (the full list can be found here) do not require a visa to enter the Russian Federation. All other nationals, including China, EU, Japan, and US need a valid visa to enter the Russian Federation.

To obtain a visa a foreign national should apply to a diplomatic or a consular representative office of the Russian Federation in person or by his legal representative and should submit the following documents:

  • a valid identity document, accepted as such by the Russian Federation;
  • a completed visa application form with one photograph;
  • one photograph (30×40 mm);
  • a medical insurance policy, unless otherwise provided for by international agreements of the Russian Federation.

To obtain a visa the visitor must have an original visa support letter ("priglashenie to the Russian Federation").

The workshop organizers can provide you with such a letter. Since letter preparation may take up to 2 months, please, let us know that you need a letter as soon as possible. To prepare a letter we will need your personal data (we will request to send us a scan of your passport).

You can find more information about visas at the Russian consulate websites collected here:
