Photo- and electroluminescence setup with mapping

This setup is based on optical microscope with quarts optics МФЛ-1 "LOMO" (spatial resolution 1µm), combined with computer controlled x-y mapping system "Inary-Technology" (step 0.25µm). Mesurements can be performed at room temperature, at higher temperatures or at reduced temperatures in nitrogen-flow-cooled cryostat RTI (temperature range 90-300K). Microscope equipped with video camera "Watec" for sample control during measurements.

Luminescence from sample is detected by CCD "Inary-Technology" (spectral resolution of 0.5nm) or by cooled photomultiplier or by cooled Ge diode "Edinburgh Instruments" comconnected to double-grating monochromator MDR-12 "LOMO" (spectral resolution <0.05nm).

Setup is fully computer controlled and allows:
  • Measurements of spatial distribution of PL spectra (spectral range 330-1700 nm)
  • Measurements of in-plane EL nonuniformities and indirect measurements of temperature distribution in LEDs and LDs (spectral range 280-1700 nm)
  • Measurements of local optical reflection spectra

Photoluminescence and photoluminescence excitation

This setup is based on two monochromators "LOMO" (MDR-23 for detection and MDR-41 for excitation), one continuous wave He-Cd laser, one pulsed N2 laser (Pex up to 1MW/cm2), tungsten and Xe lamps as white light sources.

Setup is equipped with liquid-nitrogen-cooled cryostat for measurements at reduced temperatures (temperature range 80-300K) and heating system for measurements at higher temperatures (up to 500K). Luminescence from sample is dispersed through single-grating monochromator (spectral resolution <0.1nm) and detected by cooled photomultiplier or by cooled Ge diode "Edinburgh Instruments" connected to SR-810 lock-in nanovoltmeter "Stanford Research Systems".

Setup is fully computer controlled and allows measurements:
  • Measurements of photoluminescence and photoluminescence excitation in a wide temperature range (spectral range 330-1700 nm)
  • Measurements of optical reflection and transmission (spectral range 280-1700 nm)
  • Measurements of photocurrent (spectral range 280-1700 nm)

L-C-V setup

Computer controlled setup that allows light-current voltage (L-C-V) measurements on assembled LEDs, on chips as well as on-wafer probing. Current range 1nA – 1A, voltage range 0-30V. Can be connected to any existing cooling / heating system for temperature measurements.

Optical microscope

dicdic Optical microscope with differential image contrast HT-30.01 "LOMO" equipped with color video camera "Watec" for thickness nonuniformity control and surface inspection.

Hall effect measurements setup

hall Setup is based on Bio-Rad HL5200 Hall measurement system and operates at room temperature or at liquid nitrogen temperature. Setup is equipped with permanent magnet (0.32 Tesla), and suitable for low-conductivity film measurements (operating voltage up to 26V).
