4. Original observational data

The fourth part of the catalog presents original data on time histories and enegy spectra of observed events separately for each SGR. Data presenting is opened with a Table which contains the main characteristics of observed repeated bursts. Columns of the Table specify burst order numbers, burst names, trigger times T0, peak fluxes Pmax, fluences S, spectral parameter kT, comments. For explanations see the first part of the catalog. There are also an ASCII-version of the Table as well as a zipped file which comprises all data files for this SGR. In the Table, the burst name (for trigger events) is a reference to its html-page where plots of a time history and energy spectra are presented as well as the references to a time history data file and to an energy spectra data file.

Time history data file includes a short list of necessary explanations and a data table.

The list contains:

  1. SGR name, e.g. SGR 1806-20
  2. Burst name, e.g 981017
  3. Trigger time, e.g. T0=54823.353 s UT
  4. Energy window intervals G1, G2, e.g.
    G1: 15.2-59.7 keV
    G2: 59.7-258.2 keV
  5. Background level in the energy windows G1, G2, e.g.
    Background G1: 1122 counts/s
    Background G2: 461 counts/s

Note, the background was measured and averaged over a long time interval. Therefore, its statistical error is negligible. The data table consists of 4 or 5 columns (depending on a presence of statistically reliable data in the window G2). These columns contain:

  1. N – order number of a time bin
  2. T-T0 – start of the time bin (seconds)
  3. dT – duration of time bin (seconds)
  4. G1, G2 (or G1+G2) – number of counts accumulated during dT in a corresponding energy window. These counts rates are corrected for a dead time. Background is not subtracted.

The energy spectra data file contains data tables preceded by a short list of explanations.

The list gives an information on:

  1. SGR appellation, e.g. 1627-41
  2. Burst name, e.g. 980618n
  3. Trigger time, e.g. T0=59884.665 s UT
  4. Number of spectra in the file, e.g.
    Number of spectra=1
  5. Time interval (fixed on the scale t=T-T0) when a spectrum was accumulated, e.g.
    Spectrum#1: 0-0.128 s

The data table for each spectrum consists of 5 columns:

  1. N – order number of an energy interval
  2. El – lower threshold of the interval (keV)
  3. Eu – upper threshold of the interval (keV)
  4. F – background-subtracted deconvolved incident photon flux (photons cm-2s-1keV-1) for given energy interval
  5. Err – error in the measured flux (confidence level 67%)
