21st International Shock Interaction Symposium

ISIS-21 welcome to Latvia!

As the Symposium is organized by the Ioffe Institute (Russian Academy of Sciences) together with the University of Latvia, the place of the event is selected in Latvia.

The Symposium will be started in the heart of Latvia’s capital city, Riga, in the University’s of Latvia main building. Then it will be continued in countryside, in Ratnieki convention center, which also belongs to the University of Latvia. Riga is a beautiful medieval / art-nouveau / modern city, worthwhile visiting, but we suggest ISIS-21 to be continued in a rural, really green, totally not urban environment.

Riga is an easily accessible meeting point between eastern and western Europe. Direct flights from more than 80+ destinations. Airbaltic, locally based air carrier, provides many convenient flights – inexpensive, if booked well in advance. Riga’s airport is just 15 minute ride from the city center.

Riga also is a sea port with ferry traffic from Scandinavia and Germany; there are convenient train and bus connections from Estonia, Lithuania, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
